If someone has taken a fairly long-term colon cleanse, please explain what you did and if it helped. By long term, I don't mean short term. :-) Such as quick purge medication or a few quick enough enemas.

Why, what purpose does this serve???

Ok, my version............fast for a day and drink loads of water, your colon will be squeaky-clean. The downside, as soon as you eat something, your colon will get all disgusting, rotten-meat'ed and
dirty/poopy in no time.

Might be same or related topic, OP.

I did a colonic aka colonic hydrotherapy in December. 3 of them.

First time in my life in my late 40s.

Each took 45 minutes.

I was constantly releasing. Decades of that stuff in our bodies.

Look at all of the garbage we consume - even if - we try to eat healthy.

I'll do 3 more next December, probably 4.

I felt better.

Also, for a colon cleanse

You can do a Salt Flush.

I've done about 4 in total, spaced out about a month apart when I had some medical issues.

Very simple, costs basically nothing, and you do it at home.

Lots of instruction Youtube videos on the Salt Flush.

I tried this once - freakin' hysterical FAIL!

I didn't completely understand what I was doing, and ended up trying it twice in the same morning. My entire body bloated up so that I didn't even fit in my pajamas! I was super bloated, really uncomfortable, HUGE, and still constipated!

At the time I didn't find it funny, but in retrospect? Oh yeah, it's very funny! (I haven't tried again since, I'll just take a lot of Miralax and Dulcolax if I'm desperate to clean out now)

Lucy are you referring a Salt flush or something in OP?

Also, a colonic is done at a clinic.

A salt flush - I totally did it wrong, and in retrospect, it's pretty darn funny!

I was never brave enough to try it again....

Nothing stays in your colon for years, let alone decades.
