It was just suggested to me by a doctor(!) that I try turmeric, but I later realized that he didn't say anything about dosage.

If you take it as a supplement, how much do you take. And are you taking it long-term, or for a specific short-term problem?

Anything I should know before buying?

I don’t know the dosage of Turmeric.

We buy turmeric powder from the Indian grocery stores. We sprinkle a pinch at a time as it has very little bioavailability.

People put turmeric powder in warm milk and honey (for taste).

Caution if you decide to get turmeric powder from Indian grocery - have you blood checked for lead. Products from India are not checked by FDA.

Speaking from experience

You can also get fresh tumeric, they look like skinny ginger root.
But it is odd your doctor would recommend tumeric, are you having memory problem?
Tumeric is used daily in Indian cuisine, some think it prevents alzheimer disease, you can get tumeric powder from American brand as well.
if you find a bottle,it should have instructions how much to take

I was talking with a lady in a health food store about a dozen years ago, I mentioned chronic pain in my R elbow, probably from overuse. She suggested turmeric. It was magic. I don't know the dosage, probably took a couple of pills a day. Now I take about 2000-2250 mg per day. It's an anti-inflammatory, good stuff in my book.

I think turmeric is very beneficial. You can read all about the benefits, and I believe them to be true, or at least it works for me.

I take 2000 Mg per day, and it also has black pepper extract in the supplement for absorption.

Many ways to incorporate it into your diet, doesn’t have to be supplements either.

I've been taking turmeric for about the last 2 yrs for anti-inflammatory purposes. I take many other vitamins too for various overall health purposes. Plus, I have a skin condition called hidradenitis suppurativa that turmeric is good for.

My body must be immuned to it now because I've been taking it daily for so long...anywhere from 800 - 1200mg. I've tried a few brands. It used to work better up until several mos ago. Nowadays, I see no difference/improvement anymore, so hopefully, I'm not wasting money still buyig it & it continues to keep things at bay.

Brand really matters with Curcumin, I think Life Extension currently has the best product.
They say 1 per day, but there is no established dosage

Their advanced formula is quite a bit more, not sure the value is there, maybe if I had cancer(keep your vit D up!)

They also have a mix with black seed oil, good combo

I took 300 mg and it did nothing for my nerve damaged foot. 600 mg helps. I tried 1200 mg but it didn't help more so I stick to 600 mg a day. I take Solaray brand.
