As far as house tastes go, we are a funny mix. We both like the character and charm of old houses, but we are both pretty practical. My husband especially- has to have updated plumbing, electrical, attached garage, etc. Now that we have kids I think we are beginning to see the advantages of the 'burbs. At the same time I automatically freeze up at the thought of a "cookie cutter" neighborhood. But, then I see how pretty and new the kitchen is... lol. Is Radisson extremely expensive? Is that in Baldwinsville "village"?

Again, thank you all so much! I think I am already seeing that Syracuse is a friendly place!
Hello Kay & Family,

I pay for a plow service here in Cicero and it costs me $250 for the whole winter and he plows everytime it snows 3" deep. I've heard that some plow services around Metro Syracuse charge as much as $400 for the winter.

Yesterday I gave you info about Cicero. Today I have some information for you about Liverpool-far north, Radisson, & Baldwinsville.

I've selected the newer, nicer, well maintained neighborhoods/streets for you in all the following cases.

LIVERPOOL-far north area>
Liverpool Streets off SOULE ROAD>>
A) Turn onto Fairway Drive East then to Cottonwood Court & Halfmoon Circle & Gopher Circle & Coconut Tree Dr. & Canoe Creek Lane & Carmel Dr. & Cactus Cir. & Mayfair Cir. & Montezuma Course & Pisces Cir. & Steelhead Dr. & Perch Dr. & Streanwood Dr.
B) Turn onto Pine Gate Pkwy. then to Balsamwood Ln. & Buttonwood Trail & White Cedar Cir. & Rusty Pine Ln. & Summitt Cedar Ln. & Sugar Pine Cir. & Choke Cherry Way

Liverpool Streets off MORGAN ROAD>>
Turn onto Fairway Drive North then to Trellis Brook Ln. & Fairway Drive South & Corsair Path & Javelin Trail & Loveland Dr. & Penelope Ln. & Poseidon Cir. & Chiffon Path & Labatts Way & Green River Way

Liverpool Streets off BUCKLEY ROAD>>
Turn onto Wild Creek Way then to Rabbit Run & Nestling Duck & Wild Turkey & Great Muskrat & Mountain Ash & Foxtail Pines & Black Willow Rd. & Marshfield Ct. & Plum Hollow Cir. & Walking Stick Way & Summerwood Place

Liverpool-far north area, is 10 miles to North Syracuse (Taft Rd. East.) AND is 19 minutes drive time in good weather.

I THINK YOUR HUSBAND WILL LIKE SOME OF THESE HOMES BECAUSE MOST OF THEM HAVE 2 STALL GARAGES AND BASEMENTS.

READ THIS>>. ... http://www.radissoncommunity.com/about/ (broken link)

Radisson is 14 miles to North Syracuse (Taft Rd. East), AND is 24 minutes drive time in good weather.

RADISSON's location is generally: north of Route 31, the east border is the Seneca River, the north border is Potter Road, and the west border is Sixty Road. Radisson is east of Baldwinsville north of Rt. 31.

BALDWINSVILLE 13027 zip code, COLD SPRINGS ROAD Home Listings>>
Homes are outside the village in a nice development, south along Cold Springs Road/Rt. 370.

THE DEVELOPMENT STREETS BELOW REMIND ME OF A hamlet/small town ALL BY ITSELF OUT IN THE BEAUTIFUL COUNTRYSIDE OF FARM FIELDS AND ROLLING LANDSCAPE. These are nice well kept homes built among full size trees and some built on non-treed land. Pleasant & peaceful.

BALDWINSVILLE Streets in the countryside south of the village OFF Cold Springs Road/Rt. 370>>
Turn
onto: Widemark Drive OR
onto: Dewitt Drive OR
onto: Bendigo Drive OR
onto: Shanagarry Drive OR
onto: Dunderry Heights >> then to Killoe Road & Tuccamore Cir. & Ballygar Rd. & Brannockbyrne St. & Warriors Path & Kilkenny Dr. & Mustang Rd. & Shalako Cir. & Cortina Rd. & Halsey Ln. & Hiltonwood Rd.>(picture of home on this street/click above)< & Fargo Rd. & Beakman Ln. & Restmoor Dr.>(picture of home on this street/click above)< & Pico Ln. & Garlock Ln. & Celtic Ln.

BALDWINSVILLE Streets-another area south>>
Turn OFF Cold Springs Rd./Rt. 370
ONTO> Shriver Drive then to Doe Run & Lee Ridge & Ronway Drive & Merlewood Pkwy. & Foxwood Drive.

It is quite a long drive to North Syracuse from Cold Springs Road but people do commute from this area to distant Syr. Suburbs all the time. Just try the drive to see if you want to drive that far every day.

I hope all of the above is written clearly enough. If you have questions, just ask me.

The Major Shopping Area for far-north-Liverpool, Radisson, Baldwinsville, & Cold Springs developments is east & west along Route 31 @ Soule Road (near Rt. 481). There are several shopping plazas, a large Mall, as well as restaurants, grocery stores, car dealers, furniture stores, Barnes & Noble Books, gas stations, fast food, gift shops, and more--very Major.

Best wishes for a successful trip to Metro Syracuse.

Just wanted to post a quick update- we did visit Syracuse and very much enjoyed our time! I do imagine the spring and summers would be our favorite, but the snow was not as bad as we thought as far as getting around in it. We really liked Baldwinsville and Radisson in our limited "looking around". It's still up in the air if the move will happen... job factors! Thanks again everyone!

You came up on pretty blustery, frigid weekend... even for us natives! lol - glad you enjoyed your time here.

Hello Kay & Family,

Yes, Spring, Summer, & Autumn-with the beautiful colorful foliage are all very enjoyable.

I'm glad that you travelled around Metro Syracuse and found that the snow wasn't as bad as you might have thought it would be. Actually, this winter has had more snowfall than most years. The official snowfall measurement this year-2011-says that we received a USUAL FULL WINTER'S SNOWFALL AMOUNT BY THE END OF JANUARY 2011. So ordinarily we'd have a lesser snowfall amount in most years.

You mentioned liking the Baldwinsville and Radisson areas. I think that whole area south along the Cold Springs Road, the River Road, the roads on the outer west side of Baldwinsville, the village itself, and of course Radisson, are all nice areas to own a home.

Best of luck with the "job factors". I hope everything works out well for your family.
