That is odd that Delta goes to Atlanta first in order to get to Seattle. It is where they are based out of, but still. Hartsfield is a huge airport and takes a long time to walk across.
I would imagine that flights to Seattle would connect in Minneapolis, not Atlanta. I have a friend from Rochester who connected in Atlanta when they flew to Europe on Delta, which makes some sense. I would rather fly through JFK to Europe if I were up there.
It will also be interesting to see how American goes head to head with Delta in Syracuse with larger jets, now that the merger with USAir is finalized. The other question mark is how Jetblue will respond to Delta adding more flights to NYC.
Has anyone been following the proposal to charge an annual fee of $35 to people residing outside of Onondaga County to use the public libraries? I can respect the argument put forth by some administrators and residents who feel they are paying for services that are being utilized by people from outside the county. I would normally agree with this viewpoint, however, improving child literacy, reading books, and utilizing other programming available in full service libraries helps early stage development and scholastic aptitude. I know the cost is only $35, however I think you will see a lot parent(s) or grandparents from places like southern Oswego County, an area that lacks the breadth and depth of library resources found in larger and more comprehensive facilities in northern Onondaga County opt to stay home. Most of the traffic from non-residents is centered around the Brewerton library which directly borders Oswego County and is zoned for the Central Square School District. The additional revenue generated by this silly measure is minuscule.

Ditto, I agree with Mahoney. The cronies on these boards know nothing of regionalism and could care less, they have narrow myopic view that is short-sighted.
Can't remember which airline on which trip but generally going to Seattle I connect in Chicago.
But with Delta last year they took us through Atlanta. I was like anybody ever look at a map???
LOL..I remember taking American through Chicago a long time ago when it had a major presence at Hancock. Now that American has merged with USair, that route may return and its presence expand once again. Basically, (except for the swap with Delta) the routes will be USairs routes.

American [Eagle] still has a few flights daily to/from O'Hare. But yeah, they're a pretty minor presence in SYR right now.

It doesn't make sense, considering that the Brewerton Library is in the same school district that these non county residents are coming from. This isn't unusual, as there are school districts that are centralized in
Onondaga County that crossover into adjacent counties like ES-M, Tully, Skaneateles and I believe Jordan-Elbridge. So, this could have an impact on others as well.

Only if they reduce taxes by the percentage it contributes. That won't happen though... so keep it "free." As long as the materials are brought back, I don't care.
