Younger people, say under 40, consider this a bad winter. Older people just consider it winter. To me this hasn't been a mild winter but certainly not a bad one.
The last ten years have been so easy we've raised a soft generation.
Interesting bit of historical information, jaywalking originated in Syracuse.
Gotta love Syracuse.com where they can take a story that has nothing to do with Syracuse and try to relate it to the area. It must be a really slow news day.

Well, I am not a big fan of Syracuse.com, but as the article points out Peter Norton, a professor at the University of Virginia and author of "Fighting Traffic: The Dawn of the Motor Age in the American City," told the British media group the term was first used in December 1913 -- was first coined in Syracuse. If that was part of BBC's story, then it is somewhat related to Syracuse.
Although, I would have imagined that "jaywalking" would have been coined in Los Angeles (respectfully speaking).
The story goes on to site earlier references to jaywalking in other parts of the country. So they take any quote with Syracuse in it and post it, followed by why it is inaccurate.
As one who has never been to the dome, and never will, this latest debate has kinda hit me by surprise.
I also didn't live in this area when it was built so know nothing about that period either.
Is it really in that bad of shape?? Doesn't seem that old.
Why would the taxpayers be on the hook for a private school??
Did SU pay for the current one?? I gather Carrier was involved in some way??
Wouldn't it make the most sense to build a replacement out in the suburbs with tons of parking??
It was funded publicly and privately, which is common for stadiums across the country.
I think putting it in the suburbs would make it harder for students to attend the games and wouldn't allow for it to be centrally located, unless you put it just north of the city. That bring things back to the issue of students attending the games.
