Yes and it is a great weekend to go to the apple orchards along Route 20. I can imagine that they may be packed though.

Especially since it's Lafayette Apple Fest this weekend too!

O'Neill's Orchards is easy to get in and out of. Small crowds and the trees are very close to the parking. I was in and out of there in ten minutes total last weekend and picked a 1/2 bushel of Macouns - $12 for 18 pounds. During Apple fest take the back route. Take Valley Drive south out of the city from Seneca Turnpike, follow it as it winds past Saunders Concrete and Quarry Hill Stables and then take the next left onto Hitchings Rd / County Rte 151. This road winds around to end at Rte 20. McLuskey Orchards is a few hundred feet to the right up Rte 20 and if your go left and down a mile or less you'll see O'Neill's on the right. No they are not related to me although I am an O'Neill.

I've been going there for years - great place. Went there last Sunday morning to pick Macouns too.

I was supposed to go apple picking last weekend, but it got rained out. May have to just head down there at some point this weekend. I still haven't ever been apple picking yet! Thinking it may be pumpkin carving time as well

I was in Hallmark the other day and they already started putting out the Xmas ornaments! I was like NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Becca - whatever you do... avoid coming into that area on Rte 20 in any direction this weekend! Beak & Skiff will be a madhouse in and of itself and the Apple fest will be modded with the great weather. O'Neill's is a breeze to pick apples at and easy to get in and pout of by the back route. I you have not yet had Macouns and they still have them - treat yourself. My all time favorite apple. And I probably walked right by acknight in the orchard and didn't know it ;-)

I wouldn't choose this weekend to go apple picking. Traffic will be a nightmare all along Route 20. Even walking around some of the shops is a nightmare with the parking and lines. It will be nice out which will only make it worse.
For pumpkins, you have to go to Tim's Pumpkin Patch

If you guys wanna avoid all traffic right up til the parking lot try Northstar Orchards in Westmoreland. Take 5 to Rt 233 and its on the left. Or the Thruway takes you right to the front door(almost).

The place will be super packed but getting there would be effortless.
