Bedcca, I believe it is rabies, I did a google search and it appears its rabies because he is yelping, skinny and almost jumped at my husband. We have had many healthy racoons on the property and they were big and fat and not aggressive. Yesterday was the first time I saw him and he wondered off into the wooded area.

Conibear traps are kill traps.

There are local places that sell them but I will not post a link.

I think that coon needs killing but conibear traps kill dogs also. It may be what you need but BE CAREFUL PLEASE.

And whatever you do, do not look at Google Images for "Conibear trap".

And now I must, of course. :P Some of our friends are DJs on the local radio stations and have been pushing it. Josh was all "Have you checked out lemonparty.org?" on Wednesday night.

I can't unsee that. Eyeball bleach. Stat.

We have'nt seen the Racoon in a few days, he went off into the wooded area. I am hoping the poor thing has died. It would be very difficult to pin point the area. We will just have to wait and see. Thank you all for your help.
