Does under 40 count as youngish?
Currently living in Orlando for the past 6 years, moved here with my company. Parents are needing more help back in the cuse, and I am now remote out of my house....so I am coming home. I read here frequently and want to thank you all for your great help and advice. I am a west side gal, moved from Westvale, heading back to the Camillus/Marcellus area. Bringing a Miami born hubby and 2 kiddos. Yes hubby knows about the snow, and loves to snow board so we should be all good!
Can you all say a prayer the house sells? We had our first showing tonight!

I moved from Westvale to Orlando, but my true cuse roots are from the Valley. I went to Corcoran before it was bad. Hubby loves the historic city houses but the school district .
I loved growing up in the Valley, I will be 40 in September so it was many years ago, but it was really great place.

I wish I knew how old my youngest uncle is! lol - I think he's maybe a few years older than you... they all grew up on Carlton Road, just barely north of Corcoran but only my dad (56) went there. The rest all went to Rosary>Ludden but my dad, being himself, got kicked out of Rosary for wearing jeans and smoking on school property. :P So he went to Corcoran after that. haha
I hope you enjoy coming home! Syracuse is changing and growing, thankfully.

Have you possibly considered private schools like Rosary, St. Charles in Westvale, Holy Family in Fairmount or All Saints of Tipp Hill, then on to Ludden, perhaps? Maybe even Faith Heritage could be an option and it is a K-12 school. There's also charter schools like Southside Academy or Syracuse Academy of Science too.

The house is not even listed yet! This is meant to be!
My mom did tell me to consider the private schools so those are on the table too! So much to consider.

Welcome home! This has been a summer to savor when it comes to escape from the heat. The days have been pleasantly warm and occasionally moderately hot but the evenings just perfect. By the way... 40 is definitely "youngish" ;-) You may have had my dad - Mr. O'Neill - as your guidance counselor at Corcoran. He split his time between Corcoran and Fowler during the late part of his career and retired 22 years ago - around the time you graduated.

When did he work there? My dad graduated in '73, I believe...
