Visiting my elderly mom for a few weeks. Happened to get a phone call this AM from someone who claimed to be with SBR - an alternative supplier of gas for National Grid. I don't live here anymore so I'm not really familiar with this company, and whether it might be a scam. I do remember years ago someone came to her house trying to get her to switch her gas supplier from Nimo to somewhere else, and that turned out to be a big time scam. Anyone familiar with this, done it already, seen a big savings on your bill? The girl on the phone said they would send my mom a big rebate check? Smells kinda fishy to me....
Believe this is scam but you shouldn't need to get caught up in it! SEE BELOW! Received multiple calls from Telemarketer / SBR, & Finally decided to give it a try, delivery Service cost savings and a 15% rebate at end of year Sounds Good!NOT, received our first bills, Delivery Charges from SBR were just under 50% higher than National Grid. When called and questioned they said that the delivery charges were as posted $0.10 Kwh. National Grid had never been more than $0.072 Kwh in any of our previous bills. Two Hours later on the phone with the public service commision & SBR, & National Grid a complaint is filed SBR account cancelled and National Grid back as service supplier with a block on the account.
DO NOT GO WITH SBR, if you want what they CLAIM on their web site "A Green Energy Supplier" that is one thing if your willing to pay higher prices for GREEN Energy, if you are not, Do not get caught up in their Pricing SCAM!
thanks for the info to all who replied. Pretty sure she will just stick with Nat Grid.
