I use Verizon FIOS (their service similar to U-Verse) for internet and Time Warner for Cable since FIOS TV isn't available in the city of Syracuse.

Availability of FIOS is not necessarily widespread and depends on neighborhood within the city of Syracuse and mostly by which township/village outside the city limits.

Depends on where you move I suppose. We have Time Warner. It's quite expensive for the package we have which includes premium cable, internets and phone. It works pretty well after some teething pains, but I resent the idea that I can't choose the 5 or so channels I actually watch and must pay for all the other dreck.

I have Time Warner and hate it. I'm closing on a house within the next few weeks and am getting rid of cable tv though. I'm going to stick to TW for internet since it's cheaper than FIOS.

Time Warner's cheap if you're willing to haggle on a new rate... and be called on a possible bluff. They give in at the very, very end. I was standing in line to return the cable box and they had retention people in the wings. The price they offered was $30ish/mo. less than what I had previously said I was willing to pay.

Ours is currently $67/mo. for phone, Road Runner w/wireless modem, and digital cable. And this time, they made it good for two years instead of one. I don't have to haggle again until July 2014. Sweet! lol

I was only going to keep the wireless RR... but when they offered ALL of what we had before for a few dollars less than keeping wireless internet alone, what could I say?

Time Warner here.

We have the phone plan cause its cheap. We don't even have a phone hooked up to it as we all have cells.

Roadrunner is available in several speeds. My wife's business requires fast upload speeds and its pretty expensive. Its not needed for most folks I would think. I didn't have the fast speed before, I think its called Business Class but could be wrong, she moved in and RR was pretty good but I'll admitt since we have to have it I do kinda like it.

I'd say the service, rarely needed, is very good. I have been with them here since 1998 and zero complaints.

Time Warner here as well. Not bad and use the 3-in-1 package. I've had occasions where the modem went crazy, but for the most part, I can't complain.

***Update***

I'm always swapping out boxes and modems with TW for a variety of reasons. Like I said above I been with them since 1998 and have always been happy with the company and more importantly the local PEOPLE.

I get there this morning and the signs are up, closing 1/25/13. Everyone is laid off.

Soooooooooooooooooo, no more local face, Rome is now the new Oneida office.

Expect to see a dish hanging from my house soon.
