I called Jefferson/Madison Towers today and only Madison had an available unit. However, they are pretty pricey, and trying to figure out how to get there wasn't on my list of priorities for the day. I did however check out Skyline Apartments again. I'm still very wary of that area however.

@Miller88, where did you end up? Why not Vincent Apartments for you?
Are you able to check out the listings on the Upstate Companies website?

Two reasons - they didn't have any one bedroom apartments (not a deal breaker - their two bedroom apartments were cheap ... this was 2012) and I drove around the neighborhood one night. No thanks! Didn't feel too safe.

I will send you a PM of where I ended up!

Well, I'm staying here for the year and I hope that it all works out. I'm a bit of a homebody, so I don't intend to be out at night much, if at all. Just going to focus on school and keeping me/myself & I safe.
