Hey, I just realized I don't get notifications for this feed! I'm not sure the relevance of Indians/southeast Asians arriving is....We are neither and don't really mind who is our neighbour as long as they are quiet and decent people. We are looking to be in an area with working professionals/mature students that is relatively family friendly (not undergrad party zones or low income housing drama).
I was sad to discover two of places we were considering cannot show us units on the weekend (seems strange to only show apartments M-F during work hours).
Have you ever lived or visited at Kasson Place of Greenwich Manor? We have all the basic info and online pictures but without going to see it we can't really get a feel for the surrounding neighbourhood, type of tenents or if the walls are paper thin or if the elevator seems in good condition...etc

Oh and before I mostly saw split homes that claimed they were geared towards Grad students.... they were very pricey considering what they had to offer (some were straight up slums I was shocked considering the pictures told a different story). I was greatly dissapointed since I am the type of person that typically avoids apartment complexes.

Where were these places located?

Do you mean Kasson Place or Greenwich Manor? Greenwich Manor would likely be a better fit for what you are looking for.

Are you looking for rental homes or buildings? Some of these listings could work: DNDrucker Ltd - Syracuse Apartment and Housing Rentals

Right now we can't take on yard work or snow removal so most rental homes are out for us! We've shifted our search to apartment complexes. And yes sorry about the typo! I'm always on my phone - should have read kasson place OR Greenwich Manor. I like the idea of Greenwich but the pictures online aren't very glamorous so was hoping to find out if it was clean and surrounded in decent tenants . I'm having trouble pulling the trigger on sending our application without viewing it :s

Greenwich Manor is a basic, older complex, but it is in a safe, rural environment just within city limits. I would also look into the listings on that site in the Meadowbrook area, as it is in a nice part of the city of Syracuse.

I unfortunately left without finding a place last weekend when I went to view some homes and now we are scrambling to restart our search in places a bit farther out (seems like you had the right idea from the beginning as many locations did not feel overly safe and were very slummy split homes!!). Just wondering if you saw any other places in Liverpool that were nice or that we should steer clear of? We need a 2bed+den or large 2bd so I think Clayton didn't have anything available for us last I called. At this point we might be renting without viewing as we are preparing to move from down south and that thought terrifies me just considering the quality of places I saw in the heart of Syracuse! Any advice/impressions of places you saw would be so helpful!! Thanks!!
Hi, I didnt get a notification for this so didn't see it until now. Great to hear some more Canadians are coming down haha. Ya I was a big fan of Liverpool in general, felt safer and nicer than Syracuse plus only like 10-15 mins away. Clayton Manor and Ravada Hills were by far my favorite (both owned by the same owner and pretty close to each other). They had a 2 bedroom still available a week or so ago so maybe check with them again. I also checked Grenadier Village (which was ok, i felt the sales lady there wasn't very trustworthy, she seemed a little sneaky to be honest but I have heard good things about that complex). I also checked out ABC estates, cheaper than the first two but didn't feel as nice. The buildings were older. Those are the only 4 i had time to check but let me know if you have any other questions. Good luck!
I also used these forums and apartmentratings.com to get an idea so hopefully it can help you as well.
