Video/media jobs in syracuse (promotional, universities, living in)

Hey does anybody know of any companies or places that might offer video editing/videography/post production type work in the Syracuse and surrounding suburban areas?


I'm a young professional currently living in North Jersey with my wife and son and we were weighing options on possibly moving back to the Syracuse area, which is where I was born and raised and where my parents currently live.


I know there are plenty of more opportunities for work in the Greater NYC area, but the cost of living is unbearable and the fast paced lifestyle is getting very tiring.


Looking to maybe move back and I do know that there is a good creative arts culture in the area.


I have experience working with production company in Westchester, NY as a production assistant and assistant editor. We mainly did promotional videos for medical practices, corporations, business seminars, non profit organizations etc. We also would do videos for local festivals to promote the culture of the area.


Just wondering if anyone on here can point me in the right direction...

Have you looked into the TV stations? I would also look into WCNY in that regard.

I'd also look into the colleges/universities in the area, as they tend to have events where such skills may be needed.

Time Warner(eventually Comcast) also comes to mind.
