Hi,
Anyone here who lives in or know of any nice places for rent that allow dogs.
Would like to pay $1200 (including snow removal and some or all utilities)
flexible on rent depending on amenities and utilities that are included.
somewhere safe with good reviews too. Liverpool/Syracuse/downtown
thank you!
We're in a similar situation: a family of four + a 2 year old Maltese dog, moving to Syracuse (ideally Jamesville/DW/Manlius) area in August. Good schools are a must for our 12 and 14 year old kids, and we are looking to rent for a year before deciding on whether to buy.
So, can you recommend a Complex (incl. those already mentioned above) with good middle and high schools close by, that would tolerate our 6# beast.

Actually, I would look into High Acres as well, as it is in the very good Westhill SD. I know people go with or just think of the standard Jamesville-DeWitt or Fayetteville-Manlius search, but there aren't really any bad suburban school districts in the area. Westhill, Skaneateles, Marcellus and Cazenovia are always up there in terms of school rankings for the area. All 4 are smaller school districts that have about 2000 students in the district, give or take.
Thanks a million. We will comb through these and eventually decide.
Here is the thing - we have not decided yet where to move (we are from SE Europe, DV Lottery winners). My brother & his family are in Jamesville, and it would be much easier for us to just move somewhere close and hit the ground running, as they could help us initially (not financially, but with some good advice to help us avoid their mistakes).
However, we are also evaluating Charlotte, where we would lose this advantage, but the climate is better, and (arguably?), job market as well (I am in marketing, and my wife is an accountant).

Thanks! In that case, the Lafayette and East Syracuse complexes are the closest to your brother and his family. High Acres wouldn't be too far away either, as it is just a drive down Seneca Turnpike across the Valley neighborhood of Syracuse to Jamesville. So, out of the ones listed so far, those 3 are the closest.
Out of the 3, I would go with High Acres due to the schools, in comparison and is still close enough to shopping.
As for jobs, I think the misses could have a good chance of landing one and I'd say to look at the colleges/universities in terms of say Disbursements/Development departments or financial companies/banks in the area.
