Wife & I celebrating 49th wedding anniversary next week. As a surprise, I am Looking for a one-night romantic get-away (Bed & Breakfast, etc. ) within an hour or so from Syracuse. I'm the romantic so the place to stay and restaurant for dinner is my main goal but a nice shopping area (a mall or other type of shops) in the area would be a plus for my wife.
Perhaps something like Belhurst Castle in Geneva and then going to the nearby Waterloo Premium Outlets may be a nice combination for the both of you. They are about 15-20 minutes from each other.

Belhurst was my first thought as well. If you're ok with about an hour and a half drive, I'd also look at Watkins Glen! Tons of B&Bs right on the lake and adorable downtown with cute shops and whatnot.

Thanks to all who responded to my post. Wife and I decided on the evening Dinosaur cruise on Skaeneatles Lake (probably spelled that wrong) the evening of June 30th along with day trips to several Casinos for the gambling and the Buffets (Del Lago along with a visit to the Waterloo Mall) Turning Stone & Vernon Downs.
Romantic? Ah, not so much aside from the cruise but it touches all the bases my beautiful bride enjoys; shopping, dining and gambling.
Catering to her needs/desires has been my secret to keeping a 49 year marriage fresh.
Next year a cross-country road trip with a first visit to Vegas and L.A. (our son resides there). So please be ready for some questions on that "journey" next year, same time.
