Just want to add, I had a conversation with someone at work that lives in a rural part of Oswego County that has quite a bit of land and not too far from water. She was telling me that she has seen quite a few NJ and PA plates in that part of the metro area, with a group of people from PA buying a home near her. So, this illustrates that it isn't just suburban or solid/nice city neighborhoods that are getting interest, but rural areas in the metro are also getting interest from people that are from other states or higher cost of living areas.
Its hardly panic time but not hurtful to start sweating abit.
People are leaving the cities.
And people are selling. Four houses on my "block" have gone up in the last Month and all sold in two days and all for stupid money.
We may be headed towards a Long island situation. If my taxes are raised to what they are saying my house is worth I'll have to sell and leave NY right away.
Rioting in the cities and people pouring into the suburbs driving taxes up and pushing people out. Its almost like we've seen this before. Oh wait, the 1970's. Can it be long before Death Wish 2021 comes out?? Is the Bronx burning??

Beware the talking dog.
The thing is that people moving to the solid/nicer parts of the city as well as rural areas. So, this is occurring all over the area. I agree that it isn’t panic time, as you can still find relatively affordable properties in solid/nice areas.
I’m also wondering if it is strictly people moving out of the bigger cities, as I’m not sure if those with NJ, PA and CT plates are necessarily coming from urban areas.
