Is anyone here a firefighter with the city of Syracuse? I am looking for some information for my boyfriend who is considering moving. Is it true that he would have to start over (meaning training) if he moved?

Try this number on this page:City of Syracuse (http://www.syracuse.ny.us/fireTraining.asp - broken link)

They should let you know what kind of training transfers over.

He Will have to move into the city limits and establish a residency for starters. Then he needs to get at Least a 95-100 on the civil service test to even get a look at from them. SFD is a Great & Progressive Dept. to work for. Where is he moving from and what training does he already have? Is he a paid ff somewhere else now or no?

He already works for the city of Syracuse as a paid fire fighter. I was inquiring about moving to another city/state. Would he have to startover?
