We plan to move to the Syracuse area late fall this year if all goes well. We spent half a winter and most of spring in the city over a decade and a half ago, but family matters forced us back to PA. Now we are retired and free more or less and wish to return, but want to live in a rural area, but not isolated. We want a place where we can raise chickens, rabbits, maybe even a couple of goats, a medium sized garden, etc so we need a place without too many restrictions. Also we are looking for lower costs about 100K or there abouts. Also want EZ access to the city for using the VA hosp (I'm disabled vet). Understand we will be out a ways, but the Interstate should help. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

This is great information! My husband & I are also going to be looking for something more rural--but within a do-able commute of the syracuse area (we figured about 35-45 commute one way)

Thank you!
All of those places are within 20-25 minutes of Syracuse. It's an easy area to navigate through, as we hardly have any serious traffic.
Great info. TKS a lot. We are looking at possibly Oswego area, but know nearly nothing about it except that it snows considerably and the prices seem low. Any info there would also be well received.

Oswego is closer to a one hour commute in good weather and longer in bad weather.
