Dont pay attention to hatesyracuseny, most likely that poster has failed at something--either job, etc and are bitter.

You will like it here, its not Miami in terms of weather or nightlife but then again not many places can boast either.

As far as nightlife, what do you like to do? Clubs, jazz type bars, etc? Without specs I would say Armory Square--they have a pretty diverse selection of bars/pubs

I've lived in Syracuse my whole life. There IS alot to do, but I feel like most people just dont do it, instead sitting around complaining that there isn't anything going on. I know alot of people and places and things to do, but its hard to find people willing to get out out. I'd be happy to give you a tour of some cool places and essentials around Syracuse if you want. Im 25 and single as well, let me know if you want to talk more. Yeah, and there is snow and cold, but thats what layers and boots are for!

Ha !! this ought to be interesting! Coming from miami to this climate and gray cloudy skies! I cant wait till january and february to see your opinion of Syracuse! Other than the weather, syracuse is not all that bad. We have not suffered as bad in the recession as most southern states, but it has affected us and there is stuff to do here if you look for it. Check out Syracuse.com Keep us posted.

My guess is this will be you in January

Be careful with this site, as it has some "interesting" people that post on there. It does provide plenty of very good information too.

Here's some sites to check out: Armory Square :: Official Website for Historic Downtown Syracuse, NY
Downtown Syracuse
Syracuse Convention & Visitors Bureau
Welcome to University Hill!
Welcome to The Westcott
The Palace Theatre & Cafe
Manlius Art Cinema

Ummm... this was taken during the last few weeks of November 2008. Snow in November isn't a big deal though. This is Syracuse- we embrace the snow! lol. This particular morning, we got up with our oldest daughter at 5am and played in the snow and moonlight. Perfectly crisp, cozy, and silent outside.

And the November before that, in 2007. You can see it in the background - pretty much a white out. lol

From November 2006. And for those of you looking into it, this is the Townhouse East complex in Manlius-
