Since when is Christmas in November?

We don't reliably get snow that sticks around in perpetuity in November, but we do tend to get some.

Can you point out where I said we have snow on the ground constantly from November through April, as you *seem* to imply?

I'm 100% sure that we did have snow on the ground at Christmas, though probably scant... we had some leftover but I don't think it snowed during that time. I remember my inlaws visiting us from NH for Christmas and having to dig a bit of a winding path in our yard for their little terrier to be let out onto... the snow on the ground was taller than he was! lol - poor little pup was so confused as to where he should relieve himself! That was on the 22nd though and the snow was melted very low by Christmas. Perhaps, where you were, there was nothing at all... it's quite possible.

I've posted these pics before, to point out the variability of our winters...

January 2007 - Clearly, it was pretty warm! lol

And then this was mid-April of that same year-

I would think that any reasonable person from Syracuse would admit that our weather is nothing, if not unpredictable. My oldest daughter's birthday is on January 5th... in 2007, we had the sliding door, front door, and a bunch of windows open to let in some fresh air. It was probably just under 70 degrees out!

I used to get this response all the time when I left San Diego to live here. I never understood this as the people that would say this to me choose to live here as well...nothing is holding them back from moving to San Diego, Miami, etc.

Anyways, I moved here from San Diego 5 years ago and never looked back...San Diego is a great place but I have thoroughly enjoyed living in Syracuse as well. Both places have their pros and cons as any other city in the US.

People in the area would be surprised about how many "outsiders" actually like it here. It took me going to some other places during my time in college(MI) and the Army(SC, GA) to realize it isn't as bad as people would think.

You will like it here, its not Miami in terms of weather or nightlife but then again not many places can boast either.

As far as nightlife, what do you like to do? Clubs, jazz type bars, etc? Without specs I would say Armory Square--they have a pretty diverse selection of bars/pubs

I used to be a big party animal but im not anymore im good being a loner but i dnt wanna be that lonely either ... you know? lol i love pubs and bars but i like stuff to do during the weekends during the day as well... i guess as the time passes i will feel more confortable being around.. is there good things to do on the weekend?
