Does anyone have recommendations for good places near downtown to study or do computer work that have wifi? The library is a good option, but parking is an issue (it usually is downtown) and coffee shops are always nice but can be noisy, but I'm wondering if there are other places I've missed. Bakeries? Museums? Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

Here's a site with a list of places: free wi-fi New York NYC Albany Rochester Syracuse

You'll have to scroll down to see a list for syracuse. You might find some for surrounding communities too. Maybe the Warehouse or near SU, which has a system for the campus.

Free wifi is available at a most of the branch libraries, not just the main one. (Actually, all branches - just not the NW and SW community center satellites): Locations and Hours for OCPL Libraries

There's also Panera Bread locations (Dewitt, Fayetteville, Clay, and Camillus), Borders in Carousel Center, Barnes and Noble in Dewitt and Clay.

In addition, some of Syracuse University's access locations have public guest access as well - AirOrange Guest and Visitor Connections - Syracuse University - Information Technology and Services

I tried Panera, and apparently so did everyone else in Syracuse! I think I'm gonna try the Upstate Health Science Library next. Thanks for all the rec's. Now I have a bunch of places I can try out!

I've often had problems getting reliable connections in Panera.
