Yes..I am still looking...im waiting for the next special occasion to ask for one..hehe! My bday is next month so I am giving my husband *hints*. I've been researching a little and I like the Nook from B&N because it's color vs. the Kindle - black and white. And they came out with a $149 Nook..not too bad. That's the only huge difference I've noticed between them. I bought a hardback book last week and it's 800 pages so it's really thick...and it's a pain to carry around - I don't know about you other ladies, but my purse weighs like 50lbs and I can't fit anything else in there..lol..so I end up carrying my huge book around and can't wait to have my digital reader.

Nope, my purse weighs just 3 lbs. The trick is to only buy small-medium sized purses so I can't put more junk in there. It's a built in control mechanism, lol.

My DH is getting ready to go on a business trip and I'm wondering if he's going to ask for a reader when he gets back. He's losing some packing space usually used for books to pack some food items because he's going to one of those places where you have to be careful what you eat or risk getting sick. Food or books...it won't be an easy choice, lol. I'd be interested to hear if you like the Nook. Good luck with your hints...

I am going to have to use that idea...get a smaller purse that way I won't be able to pack too much in there..lol. I swear I haven't seen the bottom of my purse in forever..I don't even know what's in there...I think I'll put "clean out purse" on my to do list this weekend...lol.

I am sure the *hints* are working because he's been asking me questions about which one I like and the differences, etc. I'll let you know.

He doesn't have a reader yet but I was thinking to get him one for Father's Day as he recently found out he will be traveling to 2 more oversees sites, 7-9 days at a time. No way can he pack 14-18 books for the trip!!
I'm a big time novel reader, myself. Sure, some books can be read in a day, but others can take a few days, depending on how many pages there are and how small the print is. An 800+ page book always takes more time to read than the usual run-of-the-mill book, though I guess some people can read a lot faster than I.

I always prefer reading the old fashioned way and don't see the point to downloading, especially when it comes to browsing the aisles. That's where I make some of my discoveries. Then, once I've read a big box full of books, I send them to Afghanistan for the soldiers (with the help of the company I work for.)

I imagine if I were in your DH's position, I'd probably do the same thing on long trips and in countries where books are hard to come by, though I'd still prefer regular paperbacks.
