So, the Playbook is now out for sale in Canada and the US. Did anyone get one? The news reports show that lineups for the Playbook were pretty pathetic though.

IMO, it's RIM's last great hope to stay relevant as they watch their market share diminish.

And IMO they have totally failed. This thing is getting rotten reviews everywhere. How does RIM release a tablet... that doesn't support BB email. Really?
So are they going for the consumer market? Must not be as there is no Facebook app, no Twitter app, not even a youtube app.

FAIL....

Blackberry Playbook - 7-8 hrs battery life, Android operating system, 7" screen, 1 Ghz processor, Rear 5mp camera, HDMI and USB 2.0 ports.

I think the 7" screen and lack of an SD card slot are going to turn alot of people off. Then you add the lack of a good email app and substandard web browser? There are better options for a lower price. The Vizio tablet is probably the most similar competitor in specs, and it is alot better and $100 cheaper. Same with Samsung Galaxy.

Ahhh, I stand corrected. I watched a review on each tablet, and the one I watched said it uses Android. A google search confirmed it is QNX.

I snagged one this morning for my wife...it cost me 125 bucks..after some Bestbuy reward bucks. I was there when it opened ..they had 20 after running out last week. I had to wait for the manager to get them off the truck.

Tough to find the 16GB for 199 in Canada...they sell out as fast as they get them.
Bestbuy,Futureshop..Walmart, etc...lucky if you can find one.

For that price it's not bad...the only thing i find it's missing is a Netflix app.
