I'm excited about the Nexus 10 rumors that have been swirling since the Nexus 7 was announced. That Samsung Note 10.1 was looking good, but I'm holding out to see if the Nexus 10 rumors pan out.

It's going to be a long time before a 10 comes out if it does.

What I really like about the Nexus is the "pricing shockwave" that is rippling through the field now because f that.

Costco Drops Price on Toshiba Excite 10 ICS Tab to a 'Game-Changing' $300 Until Dec 1

That is a damn good deal.
Very nice tablet. Practically a "Nexus 10" with ICS...

hmm... just
had an
idea...

Have any Kindle Fire users switched to the Nexus?

It was between the Nexus and the Kindle Fire, I couldn't past up the Nexus.

I love the Nexus 7, I got mines about 2 weeks ago.

I installed the kindle app on it. Which was perfect for getting books that weren't in the google bookstore.
It comes with the movie Transformer Dark of the Moon for free and $25 to spend on anything in the play store.
I like Google Now, works almost as good as Siri if not better, atleast for me.

My only real complaint, is that I got the 8 Gb version, and it really was something like 5.9 GB out of the box. So I decided not to download the transformers movie yet. I have to be pretty picky on what movies, games, I do decided on.

Other then that I like it. I was thinking of getting a Ipad, but I don't think I need to now.

Which is the better e-reader? I plan on using the tablet for that, so I figure I'll ask. Ease of reading, availability of free books online/library?

The nexus 7 or the kindle fire?

They are both good. There is also the new Nook.
Of the 3 I would get a Nook because it is the only one with a Micro-SD slot. So you wouldn't have the problem Jermaine does.

Is the Nook tied to B&N? I want flexibility in sourcing reading material. I know the kindle has access to all the books whose copyright has expired, can I get that via the kindle app for the nexus?

For me, it's what I wish computing could have been all along. It's all I use for the most part.
The nexus 7 is fantastic. Yes, it does kindle, nook, kobo.... all of that.

Yes. As the Kindle is tied to Amazon. Here the advantage goes to the Nexus which will allow you to install both the NOOK and KINDLE apps. COnfusing, right. lol
The Kindle app will not install on Nook and vice versa. Thought there are ways to get them to install on the opposite device, it takes some effort.

Yes. You can get any public domain books on any device.

DH just got his Nexus, and loves it. Here's our iPad/Nexus comparison.

Playing games: Nexus wins. It's plenty large enough, and *much* lighter!
Watching movies alone: A tie. iPad is good, and Nexus is good enough.
Watching movies together: iPad wins - Nexus screen is just too small to share a movie.
Taking pictures: iPad wins, for the rear-facing camera. But really ... it's iPhone for pictures if you don't have your camera handy.
Reading books: DH will say they're tied. I say iPad wins, for the bigger screen. But that's really down to preference.
Obtaining apps: Nexus wins for openness ... none of that control-freak iTunes stuff (I will, eventually, jailbreak my iPad). iPad wins for variety of apps ... but not for long, I suspect.
General ergonomics: DH prefers Nexus. It takes fewer taps/holds/swipes to do stuff. I'm not bothered much either way.
