Agree completely with this.
I think ROMs are a great way to extend the life of an otherwise extinct device, but wouldn't want it on my primary tablet / phone unless I was really sure that everything worked perfect, and had a lot of patience for reloading / changing ROMs.
I have an HP Touchpad with CM on it, and it's great for using on the kitchen counter for recipes and with a few kitchen specific apps, but every version of every ROM I've had on it over the last few years has been missing something, or had some issues. I've also had to eventually reflash them to continue using apps, as they tend to have unofficial versions of many Google apps and they don't update correctly to keep using newer features.
