I love my iPad. I'm running the latest IOS version 9 on it. There are some apps that have been crashing on it, but for the most part, streaming services are running beautifully.

If all you do is mainly email and videos, an iPad is all you need.

There are a great number of Bluetooth speakers that work with tablets such as the iPad, and computers. Most of these speakers have an internal rechargeable battery, plus a charger/power pack. Best of all, you don't have to connect it with a cable to the computer or tablet. Most work around 35 feet and more away from a table. But keep in mind that the microwave from ovens can interfere with Bluetooth.

They seem to be about the say price. Anyone like them?
Some of the newer home theater receivers have both Bluetooth and Airplay built in. I can lay in bed a watch a movie on my IPad, and have the sound coming from my bedroom home theater system. Simple.

Apple TV works great for that

Apple TV works great. So does my Marantz home theater set-up. Right now I'm listening to some music from my Sony MP3 player. it plays through the Marantz via Bluetooth, I think. Anyway, it sounds great.

Most are around 30 YARDS, not feet, which is the "standard" Bluetooth range. So about 90 feet.
Love my BT speaker.

I have not hooked up any external speakers yet, but I must say I love this thing! Even with a case it is light to hold. I am also impressed how fast it is. I can get to a website almost as fast as my last laptop. And so easy to use, this Ipad.
