Yea, there's no consumer tablet on earth that boots as fast as my PC. This might have been true before SSD's though.
Pretty much a moot point when you factor in that you can leave a tablet plugged in, charging...and then it never needs to boot at all. It's always on and ready to go.
Your PC booting fast is a silly point for you to make. Who knows what you have/don't have on your start menu or any details.

Nope. Not a moot point. My PC is in sleep mode all the time. Press ESCAPE on the keyboard and it wakes up instantly, too. Same with my laptop. Even if it's NOT plugged in.

I didn't say I didn't want to read it, Ed. I help people here all the time. Tablets do NOT need to be a separate forum. One THREAD, started in October, has 55 comments? So that's worth having a separate forum for? Call me anal I guess. I like organization.

You're fighting precedent. City-Data has never eliminated a forum and that's what consolidation would do. For that reason alone, it's a safe bet that no amount of asking will make it happen.

Not that different with a PC. Desktop I might pop into sleep mode so it's back up as soon as I can type in my password. Cell is locked as well but fingerprint is a bit faster. Laptop is more mixed as it's a typical Surface product. About half the time it works right and powers on and Hello does its thing. The other half the time I have to sit there holding the power button for 20 seconds to get the stupid thing to wake up.
