I recently came into possession of a brand new Galaxy S2 tablet, well hit the button and started the startup procedure, well i must have done something bwrong as now its asking me to input a pin number andwont let me go anywhere else until i put in this pin number. is there any way to reset this thing so i can re input the start up parameters?
Press and hold the Volume up button then press and hold the Power button. When the Samsung logo appears, release the Volume up button and Power button. From the Android system recovery screen, press the Volume buttons to select wipe data / factory reset then press the Power button.
This will wipe “all” Data ( except the operating system) and allow you to start all over.
Where did you get this brand new tablet? Sounds like it was owned by someone else and the security feature built into Android is looking for the original owner who did not sign out properly before wiping that tablet. The way you said "came in to possession of" and not bought leads me to believe this was not a BestBuy purchase...
