We have an old Ipad (2nd Gen, but I'm not sure) and my mom put a password on it, and forgot it. We didn't use it for years and now it just says "Ipad is Disabled, connect to Itunes."
I followed advice on the Apple pages and -
I downloaded Itunes to my Windows 10 laptop (don't have an Apple computer).
I pressed and held the Home button on the Ipad and connected it to the computer. The Ipad displayed a plug pointed up.
Itunes started downloading a huge file (1.33G which took an hour). I wasn't sure if it was downloading files to the Ipad only, or the computer. There was a checkbox called "Simultaneous download" and it was checked.
A suggestion was to to go "Summary" in Itunes. I couldn't find that at all.
When I got done, I rebooted the Ipad and nothing happened. It still just says it is disabled.
When I went through the recovery process, Ipad did not appear in Windows Explorer at all!
With an older Ipad, you have to press and hold power+volume at the same time. With newer Ipads, it's Home while connecting to the computer.
