Best is subjective... but look for the north east side of town and the east side of town near buck lake.

southwood isn't bad either

Gilchrist Elementary is where I went back when I went to Elementary school. It is by far the most welcoming grade school in all of Tallahassee. If you move into the Timberlane/Killearn Estates (very good area / north east) you will be zoned. Southwood isn't bad either, but it's near some grungy areas, but Southwood itself is excellent.

Canopy Oaks is an excellent elementry school in town located in NW Tallahassee. There's an apartment community I live at out there, Club Lake Jackson, which is a nice quiet community zoned for Canopy Oaks Elementary, Raa Middle School, and Leon High school. In another thread I posted about the utility cost which is so much lower on Talquin, which Club Lake Jackson is on!
