High road is near the university, and has lots of college student complexes. It is not a bad area, but depending on what your looking for, it could be somewhat noisier if student throw parties.

It depends what side you are on. Its a very student oriented area.

Pensacola is not a good town, You just probably should look around tallahassee to find an area you like more.

Are there any areas that are not safe? I have been told that staying north of Interstate 10 is generally a good bet.
I'm from a high crime area, and this is a really important consideration in my opinion.
Thanks
If you have young children, the north side of town is probably better: Buck Lake, 319/Centerville Rd region, north of I-10. If you don't have young children then that opens up Southwood and Piney-Z, on the far southeast side of town past 319. North of I-10 is indeed a safe bet.

But as I noted on many posts - adults who are unmarried with children and past 22 tend to feel out-of-place. Tallahassee is largely a college town comfortable for those between 18-22 (undergraduates) or adults with deep family and community roots in the area who have already rushed into marriage and parenthood.

For a young adult YUPPIE growing a career I'd recommend Orlando/Tampa. Or Austin. Or Metro DC/Northern VA. I moved back to Phoenix, AZ after many years in Tallahassee. It wore me out.

Default Lafayette Park is the best

Lafayette Park is a quiet neighborhood with little crime. What crime there is is usually the result of someone leaving possessions in an unlocked car. I get a weekly summary of reported crimes in the area and it's as if the neighborhood is in a bubble of protection. A lot of doctors, lawyers, professors, judges and lobbyists live here. It's within walking distance to some of the hottest restaurants in town and centrally located for a near zero commute time to just about anywhere in town. It's located between the state capitol and TMH (hospital). It's one of the older more established neighborhoods in Tallahassee. Our home was built in 1927 and has been completely remodeled like a lot of the homes in the neighborhood. Also, the park offers a home for various birds including owls and hawks. Frenchtown is a mile away but it has been drasticly cleaned up over the years to be a much nicer place than it used to be. Don't be quick to write off a central location!
