I'm 24 and I moved to town recently for work (I'm single and didn't know anyone when I moved.) Everyone at my work is older, so it's been very tough meeting people. Any recommendations? I hear the summer is dead here, and if it is as dead as it is right now (spring break), it is going to be a lonnnng 4 months.

If I had a lot of time on my own I would thoroughly explore the area with an emphasis on St. Marks Wildlife Refuge, Apalachicola and St. George Island. If it suits you try hanging at sports bars - AJ's or Corner Pocket Pool are good. If you like the outdoors join a biking or fishing club, for fishing check out bigbendfishing.net for leads.
Summer is dead for someone your age, but mercifully quiet for use older folks.
Plus, the traffic gets much better once most of the students and the legislators and their minions depart.
