I am looking for recommendations for great spicy thai and/or chinese (szechuan, hunan)(not sushi) restaurants).

I absolutely love hot and spicy asian food so I hope there are some great places around (though I haven't heard good things in general about TLH restaurants.

Tallahassee is a big small town. If you come here expecting the choices you would get in Manhattan, you will be disappointed.

But for a town its size, it sports a surprising variety of restaurants.

Check out Reangthai on NE Capital Circle. Tong and Donna will make it very, very hot for you, if that's what you want.

I wasn't expecting Manhattan - in fact, I've never been there.

I just am looking for some good places to eat. I'll check out Reangthai. Thx

It's not the most authentic Chinese place, but have you tried One Fresh on Monroe just north of Tharpe? It's a stir-fry place and they have a lot of spicy options.

Is the one on Tennessee at Bronough any good? It looks classier than some of the shopping center Chinese places.

It's not bad - if you ask them for the real stuff. They serve the usual Chinese-American fare to anyone not Chinese who walks in. I think they have a separate menu or you just have to know what to order.

The portions are good though. The spicy stuff on the "American" menu probably isn't spicy enough for the OP (or me).
