First: My English is indescribably bad! However...
My name is Holger and I'm a 48-year-old, German man and live in North Germany, near to Bremen. My mother and my younger brothers have emigrated in the USA 20 years ago and now they live in Tallahassee and Crawfordville.
I have two adult children at the age of 21 and 20 years from a divorced marriage. Now I live in a happy partnership with a wonderful woman and 8 weeks ago our small Lewis was born. My partner already has 2 children at the age of 6 and 15 years. Moreover, a 1 year-old Mastin Español ***** still belongs to our family.
Since my first visit in Tallahassee, in September, 2011, I have spontaneously fallen in love in Tallahassee and plan to emigrate during the next 2 years to Florida, because I miss my family very much.
Now I would get to know with pleasure a few nice people from Tallahassee and would be glad about your mails.
Mine are: Inlineskating, jazz (John Coltrane, Stan Getz....) tenor and soprano saxophone, literature, travelling and last but not least, the USA.
You find me here, on Facebook and on Skype.

Kind regards from Germany,

Holger

Welcome Holger, I think you will enjoy living here. Florida State University has one of the finest music schools in the country, and they have many concerts that you can attend over the year with classical music and jazz.

You can skate inside at 2 indoor skating rinks, or down the st marks trail which is a long paved multi use trail.

I think you will enjoy your life here.. and you will be close to the beaches as well!

Holger, do you have a visa to live here, or do you have a US passport? Without those 2 things, I'm afraid you'll only be living in Florida for 90 days maximum a year

Hi, we have a visa and will open a business in Tallahassee. You are not able in the USA illegally. I've never done in my whole life something unlawful and now I will not start with it!

I may use this as the closing sentence for all of my e-mails in the future.

It might be useful to attend courses in English as a Second Language (ESL) at an Amerikahaus in Germany before emigrating. There used to be one in Bremen.

For those who aren't familiar with it, the Amerikahaeuser are the US State Department cultural offices in German cities, similar to the Goethe Institutes that the German Auswaertiges Amt maintains in US cities.

Hi westender,

many thanks for the good tip. However, I would like to build up contacts to US Americans in Tallahassee. If I wanted to speak only with Germans, I could remain in Germany ;-)

Best regards,

Holger
