Actually, the job climate in Texas is great! I'd still prefer to live in Tallahassee though.

I'm guessing the oil industry helps.

I'd rather live elsewhere. Tallahassee is a town in a coma.

Its funny how perspectives differ.

Right now Tally is growing leaps and bounds in its core and university areas as well as developing a district, and a beautiful regional park.

It helps, but it's not the only industry in the state. Agriculture, Manufacturing, Chemicals, Technology (HP, Dell, and Microsoft are here) Medical, Government, ect, ect..

Tallahassee is a beautiful city with great natural resources, I love the forests, hills, and it's within a short drive to some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Granted, the job market job sucks and it's full of politicians, but everytime I've visited, I loved it there.

Hey guys, I may move to Tallahassee, I'll save the long story, but what's the job market like for public school teachers? I'm certified K-12 in English & Spanish, I speak fluent Spanish...Any wisdom is appreciated, thanks!

From time to time, there DEFINITELY are positions! We have a TV channel here that all it does is post positions within the govt, and there always are teaching positions. I've seen positions for English teachers, and for foreign language Spanish. You should apply. That's what they require first, I think. Then when they have a position, they call you.

Check leon county schools website, for openings... but Being Fluent in Spanish is huge!

I bet you have no problems finding a job.

Also, if you cant find a job in Tallahassee, the surrounding counties, Wakulla, Gadsden, and jefferson, surely you could find something.

I will be moving to Tallahassee in about 9 months, to go to college. Is it hard to find a $8-$9 job? Anywhere, gas station, grocery store, anything just to get some income while i'm in college. I have experience in restaurants, retail, hotels.
Thanks for any info!

There are plenty of hotels and restaurants, so yes, there are jobs that pay that around Tally.
