Hi all,

I'm moving to Tal to attend a program at FSU. I'm 28, not in to partying, and love peace and quiet. I was considering living in an apartment complex on the top floor for safety reasons, but I am concerned about the level of partying from my neighbors. Any apartment I've ever lived in, I've had issues with neighbors and noise. If I decided to rent a small house, where should I look? My main concerns are safety and a quiet area. I'd like to keep my rent under $1000/mo. Also, if anyone knows of any decent apartment communities. I've been looking and haven't found any great reviews yet.

Thanks!

Depends really.

Their are so many neighborhoods in great areas.

Check Buck Lake, Killearn, Lakeshore, Old Bainbridge road area north of I-10,

Midtown, Southwood, Thomasville rd pretty much from monroe st north puts you in nice neighborhoods.

Are you looking to be super close? Still considering apartments?

no not super close. I'd consider a house, but don't need anything large and want to be under $1000/mo. 10-15 minutes would be ok. Apartments are for safety for me. I am nervous living on ground level alone.

Is it possible to find a nice rental with a fenced yard, wood or tile floors, in a safe area where I could feel comfortable living by myself? I've looked on zillow and craigslist and with my budget, I'm coming up with really shady looking places. This is really discouraging.

Tharpe, Hartsfield and Wiggington are fine.

Might want to check to see how close you are to college apartments on tharpe and hartsfield, as college folks live in these areas.

Would it be safer to live in an apartment since I'll be living alone? I'll be new to the area, and am highly considering Northwest Tally, but...what are the break in rates for day and night time?

No. Contact a realtor or look at the crime statistics on talgov.com

Nobody can predict crime.

How is the traffic coming from Bradfordville/Centerville and Bradfordville/Thomasville intersections heading towards FSU?
