We need to relocate to Tallahassee in 4 weeks.

Could someone knows good realtor who is familiar with Killearn area (N.E. of Tallahassee, between Summerbrooke and Golden Eagle golf courses)?

We are looking for real estate agent who knows about short sale, bank owned properties and able to find us rent on that area - We have 40 lbs dog who makes us hard to find rental house.

From my experience. Limit it to the ones that have the least goofiest photo of them self on their cards or adds. Go to realtor.com and find one or 2 that have a lot of listings.

We used Ric Hollifield when we purchased a home last year and were happy with him.

I wouldn't suggest the ones with the most listings. I would actually suggest one with less experience... Perhaps even a newbie. New real estate agents are much more eager to prove themselves. While less experienced, they will be there to help answer all of your questions. Even if they are less informed they are still eager to find the correct information for you.

Agents with a lot of listings generally don't even like to deal with buyers/renters as most of their market is from other real estate agents bringing them clients. Most listing agents tend to find dealing with buyers and renters to be too much of a hassle. A buyer's agent is the way to go even if you don't find a new one.

There are real estate sites that will pair you with agents. They are always free and some of them give you cash back at closing from the agents commission.

I totally agree with Bhamoutlook. The large "team" approached realtor firms can be very impersonal and not very helpful. Too big to care. Get recommendations and interview 3, then select one. I have used Jane Lee with good results and she would know that area.

I found a realtor who lives in the area we want to move.

Like Bhamoutlook and Emptynester1 said, large company is very impersonal. I sent emails with our budget range, size and certain features of the house, and specific elementary and middle school districts to three companies - two large company and one one-person company. Large companies didn't give us right answer. I already researched with web sites (realtor.com and zillow.com) and found 20-30 houses within our criteria, so it was kind of test. Lists from large company have a lot of out of budget and out of school districts. List from one-person company has 100% of our criteria.

I can't stand realtors. I have owned a dozen properties and never had a good experience till we also used Mr Hollifield.

He worked his but off for us on a very tough short sale. He will not put up with crap on the other end from a lazy or un qualified realtor. I just had a friend use him as well. It was a small cheap first time house that he did not make much on but still put in 125 percent and got the deal closed.
