Hello all,

I was recently accepted to a doctoral program at Florida State University. My question concerns the apartment rental season in Tallahassee. I won't be able to make a final decision on attendance until April 15th because that is the last day to receive other offers. Practically speaking, it would be difficult to get to Tallahassee before graduation in mid-May. Is it likely that good apartments will still be available for rent then? I don't have a car so my options are naturally limited. Is there a particular time-frame for the rental season in Tallahassee?

Thanks

I am confused by your question. Your header says rental for spring season. Are you looking for an apartment for summer classes, or fall semester?

My daughter goes to FSU and she told me that the students were starting their search for apartments back in Dec/Jan. She recently was looking for an apartment close to the school because she too doesn't have a car. She gets around by bicycle. There are were some apartments available back when she was looking several weeks ago. Would you consider moving into a summer dorm?

Most of the apartments around FSU have lousy reviews. However, there are some that had fair reviews. Do your research to find out which apartments you want to live in and see if they have any available apartments. A friend recommended a property management company (Frank Gomez). We decided not to go with him because the rental contract was vague and they did not have anything very close to the school (closest was 2 miles away, but along the bus system). He has apartments and house sharing.

Good luck!

Thanks for the info! Sorry about the confusion, I guess I was thinking of the spring rental season as being for fall. I'll need a lease starting sometime during the summer.
