My wife and I are considering relocating from Arizona to Tallahassee.

Before we lived in Arizona, we lived in the desert area of California, where we were involved with many people who worked to preserve natural places, encourage sustainable development, and we also volunteered at a local preserve.

We expected to find the same in Arizona, but it was surprisingly lacking.

We are hoping to find a place with at least some locally-based green opportunities.

Interesting. My general impression is Arizona has a lot more environmental-consciousness just due to California proximity alone, and being West Coast.

I imagine Tallahassee and Florida might have SOME...but definitely not to the degree you saw in California, by any stretch. NOT many people think of Florida as a civic-minded state, and most of their policy certain supports that it is NOT.
