we are from South Florida, have 2 kids and we are thinking about moving to Tallahassee, we are looking for a place family oriented, safe, is terrible here. Is Tallahassee a safe place to live? Is it hard to find a job?

Coming from S. Florida, Tallahassee is certainly safe. Finding a job may prove to be a challenge depending on what on your profession is as the economy is dominated by State of Florida. If you are serious about transitioning to Tallahassee, your job search needs to start immediately.

Regarding safe areas, that's relatively easy to find whether you want to rent initially or buy. I used to live in Killearn Acres (N.E. Tallahassee) before moving out of state and that was a pretty quiet and sought after area. As many Tally posters will tell you, most of your family-oriented areas will be N.E. to N.W. Tallahassee, East and from the Midtown area heading north on Thomasville Rd. They will also tell you to avoid the south-side, Frenchtown (area just north of FSU) and portions of the west are there lots of renters (college students primarily).

I've been to Tallahassee before btw. Neat town, wouldn't want to live there. Brutal summers, plus add in humidity.

They are coming from South Florida. I don't think the heat and humidity will be an issue.
