Anyone have any experience living in the Skyview apartments or Phoenix South apartments near FSU? (Phoenix South: Jefferson Towers, Collegewood, College Plaza, etc.)

We just moved my daughter into the Jefferson Towers on Saturday. After doing some research, this apartment complex is their better apartments. The other Phoenix South apartments have bad reviews. My daughter is real happy because she prefers the look better than the fancier apartments. We decided to rent their furniture for an extra $75 per month. They supply a full sized bed, dresser, table and chair for doing school work, a tv stand, couch (faux leather) and a coffee table. All were in pretty bad shape. The linoleum floors in the bathroom and kitchen are peeling off the floor and in pretty bad shape. I took pictures so that when we leave, they won't say we made damages.

This property management company is horrendous. I have lived in two of their properties and the office staff will steal your deposit and try to overcharge. Despite documentation of conditions upon move-in they are attempting to keep my deposit of $475 and charge me an extra $389. They will come up with bogus fees out of nowhere. The roach infestation is disgusting and they will do nothing but tell you that maintenance sprayed and you should give it time. While I lived there many strange things happened, a man died in a first floor apartment, there was a large fight with guns involved near the road, and during Christmas break I had to call the police because a woman was screaming "help me" repeatedly. It may seem safe because it's so close to campus but don't be fooled!
