We are seniors and plan to move to Tallahassee. Any info. would be helpful. Is there a problem with misquitos? Do they spray? If so, what? Is there public access to the surrounding lakes? Are there senior communities? What are they like? Can you buy organic produce in Tallahassee? Are there hilly hiking trails? Is there rock climbing? thanks.

Yes, we have excellent hilly hiking trails.

Check out Miccosukkee greenway, JR Alford Greenway, Fred George Greenway, Tom Brown Park, Lafayette heritage trail park,

Yes there are senior communities.

Yes you can buy organic produce in Tallahassee. We have local farms, and Whole Foods, Earthfare, New Leaf Market Co-op, Trader Joes, etc etc.

We do have a rock gym.

Look up Tallahassee Rock gym.

Check out Westminster Oaks for retirement.

There are about 5 or 6 retirement communities under construction as we speak.

Thanks so much for your helpful reply. We have two other questions: are mosquitoes a problem? Also, is there public access to the nearby lakes?

yes there is public access to the lakes. Mosquitos are bad in the summer wherever you are in the country during the summer.

For mosquitos, wear bug repellant and avoid hanging out outside at dusk, which is when they come out.
