Hello! In the near future I am likely to relocate to the Tallahassee/Thomasville area for work. I am single guy and in my late-30's (and want to date, go to the movies once in a while, eat out, etc.). Any insight into the livability (i.e., my suitability for the communities) of Tallahassee, Thomasville, Cairo, etc. and surrounding areas would be very much appreciated! Any and all opinions are encouraged.

In other words, would you recommend that I live in Tallahassee, FL, Thomasville, GA, Cairo, Ga, or another town in FL or GA?

Thanks so much for your time and advice!

If you want to meet people, Tallahassee is definitely the better option simply due to population. Thomasville and Cairo are both nice, but they (especially Cairo) are just much smaller. FYI, not sure if you already know this, but Cairo, GA is pronounced Cay-ro, not like the Egyptian city. Just helping you sound more like a local

Will you be working in Tally? If so, I would definitely recommend living in the city as the commute through the north side can be hellish.

Laurie, Bradfordville and Killearn have shopping and dining areas. Lots of housing also.

The north side is where most of the growth and sprawl are. That makes for terrible traffic.

Tallahassee is great though. It's the best city in FL in my opinion.

Thanks, TD and FSUMike! Went to Killearn once. OMG traffic! I live in Midtown. My fiance and I are sharing a vehicle for about another month. He needs his truck for work, but I just sit in an office. I just love Midtown.

FSUMike, my landlord was an instructor at FSU.

Cool! Yeah FSU, and FAMU for that matter, are a big part of Tallahassee's economy. I loved my time at FSU and the time my wife and I lived in Tally after graduation.
