Somebody out there tell me about Perry, FL
Good place to live? How is real estate market?
I'm more interested in rural rather than "in town" property. What, if any, industry is there? I'm assuming
Medical facilities would be in Tallahassee ... Is it a good drive there?
I'm senior, work in real estate; don't want to work aggressively, is this a good place to "semi-retire"?Any info appreciated; I checked with a local realtor & was told outsiders (not local; no long term roots) didn't survive; I'm hoping she meant purely from a business perspective.

Perry is a very small town. It has a paper mill which makes it smell really bad. The town is not a good real estate market. You would do much better to live closer to Tallahassee.

You can live on the outskirts of Tallahassee in Leon county, or You could live in Jefferson, Gadsden, or Wakulla Counties.

Much better prospects for real estate and better quality of life than Perry.

Thanks, TD .... That's the kind of info I needed.
I'm not so concerned with real estate market ad I'm looking to wind down but the quality of life is important....and the thought of constant foul smells don't help either.
Thanks again.... I'll do more research.

Agreed. There are some nice smaller towns in Columbia, Suwanee, Hamilton, Madison or Jefferson County like Ft White or White Springs.
