It should be noted that Southwood is harassing a veteran, who has chosen a patriotic theme for his mailbox. They even have "compliance" people...more harassment.

A lot about nothing. Why move into a HOA if you disagree with the requirements? Gezz a flag draped mailbox, petty and tacky. Tell the vet to wear his american flag socks to the local walmart. He likely will get more " thank you for your service" compliments there than back in southwood.

I find that really odd for HOA to do that. I worked at the state nearby.
After work one day I just took a basketball and ran around the streets for
about 3 miles (roughly around the lake east of the public HS and north of JPII).
I bounced a basketball loudly the whole time and no one
said anything to me. There was no HOA rep saying "don't bounce that basketball".

So now they are bothering a veteran just for a flag. That's bizarre.

Historically, Vietnam Veterans often got bad treatment after coming back despite being wounded.
I read the book by Frederick Downs, a Vietnam Veteran who lost his arm to a land mine.
One anti-war protester told him he was glad Frederick had lost his arm. The insinuation was that
he deserved it for choosing to fight in Vietnam. That war was very divisive among the public (unfortunately).

Here in AZ McCain is likely dying from Agent Orange exposure. He has an aggressive form of brain cancer
diagnosed recently.

I hope HOA gives the Vietnam Veteran a break. They've been through enough. The "Nam" was hell on earth.
Those Vietnam Veterans are elderly now, but they were once young, and newspapers had a weekly body count.
