My daughter and her husband have tickets to the Florida State - Miami football game on September 16th. They are visiting from Illinois and they are unfamiliar with Florida State and Tallahassee and I'm trying to help them out in regard to parking for this game only.

So far I have found that you can park at the Donald Tucker Civic Center and take the Spirit shuttle to and from the game. I've also found some reserved parking thru StubHub that's about a mile from the stadium and more expensive spots in Parking Lot 19 that's only about 3 blocks away. Parking at the civic center was only $10 but the spaces are 1st come, 1st served and I was told they would need to get there in the early afternoon for a 7:00 night game.

So my questions are as follows:

Are there other places to park in and around Tallahassee that have plenty of parking spaces and perhaps a shuttle that would take you to and from the stadium to the lot? I've attended games t Missouri and know that the city run shuttles to and from their stadium to from several locations to lessen traffic and was wondering if something similar exists for FSU football? Clemson also has a visitors lot and they shuttle people to and from that lot to the game as well.

Am I missing any other option for parking and transportation to the game.

Thanks in advance for any help offered.

you may have to walk up to a mile and park and pay a lot owner 10-20.00

There is not real guaranteed parking unless you park at the civic center and ride the spirit shuttle.

However, I have lived in Tally my whole life, and i usually park somewhere off of madison street, further down toward the civic center.

Its kind of a free for all.

You could try to snag a spot on park avenue and walk, which would be free parking, but a 15-20 minute walk.

Civic Center is a good option, and you can usually find businesses selling parking in their privately-owned lots within a short walk to the stadium.

The area directly west and east of the stadium are very overcrowded on game day. Traffic jams are horrific on Friday nights during home game weekend. It starts to resemble Miami's Dolphin Expressway at rush hour for a brief ultra-intense time frame.

I would defer to TD as a lifelong local Nole. I lived in Tallahassee for 14 years. My favorite parking area was just north of the campus by Carter Howell Strong Park. Even at home games I was able to find a parking spot that was free just on a regular public curb by Georgia St. or Brevard off of Dewey. The latter is the road that goes by the McDonald's just north of campus across the street. For some strange reason that area tends to have open parking even on game day - weird. But I always found a spot. Then you can just go down Dewey St. and walk under the tunnel that goes to the Union Building. From there you would literally be on campus and can just walk to the stadium. It usually took me about 10-15 min to make the walk. It was free too.

I have since returned to Arizona. It's all Pac-12 for me now. But I still root for the Gators (LOL). To be fair, FSU looks to be headed for another strong season. Even if they lose to Alabama, just the experience will make them strong enough to contend for the ACC. The FSU-Miami game could be epic and meet its standards of the early days (the Wide Right Era). Meanwhile, we've got 10 players suspended down in Gainesville for game 1 - bummer. Usually, FSU is the one like that.
