I'm in sw Tallahassee. I mainly travel to Crawfordville to visit shops and north Tallahassee near the trader joes. South of Tallahassee is pretty rural and I've never felt unsafe. Neighborhoods with lower incomes doesn't necessarily mean an unsafe area. Crime is often related to disputes between parties who know one another already, not so much toward total strangers, as I understand it. In any case, if Tallahassee is now so dangerous good luck finding anywhere to live with a decent sized population and the infrastructure to go with it that's not.

False. The poorer the neighborhood, the higher the crime in that area. This is true for big cities, mid-size and small cities.

Sure the lower income goes but a relatively lower income area cannot by default be labelled unsafe. The area I'm living in isn't close to higher income but it falls outside of higher crime zones and is quiet and full of families. We can't all afford to live in the lofty crime free gated communities. Tallahassee does have affordable areas that are safe and within reach of many families. In any case I doubt the op is still following this.
