We moved down here with our three boys (5,9,11) a year ago. We went back and forth on where to live. We were debating WestChase, but in the end chose Lutz. Because we now have a middle schooler, we checked great schools.net and found that the schools in Lutz were higher for middle school and high school. We put our boys at McKitrick Elem and could not have been more pleased. Great principal, great staff, super involved PTA, and wonderful families. There are five neighborhoods that feed to McKitrick, Cheval, Villa Rosa, Heritage Harbor, Fern Glen, and one whose name I cant recall. We landed in Fern Glen and loved it! Great holiday parties, movie nights in the park, kids playing kick ball and neighbors meeting in driveways after they get home from work. Lutz is a bit further out than other areas, but we can get anywhere in 45 min...and many places much faster. I wish you luck in finding a place to call home and hope this gives you a bit of insight into Lutz.

I hope you enjoy Oldsmar. It's a very quiet and relatively slow city, but they have lots of civic pride.

I also moved here a year ago - and have absolutely no regrets. There's so much to do here - concerts (Rock and FLA Orchestra), major league sporting events year round (NFL, NHL, Spring Training, MLB, PGA, Tampa Downs), Busch Gardens (annual pass $100), beautiful beaches, pretty nice weather year round (if you can take the heat).

We are celebrating our second "anniversary" in July. We moved here from southern Indiana and LOVE IT!!!! We are in Odessa in a great neighborhood with the best neighbors - we have bonded to the level of family. We LOVE that we are so close to everything that used to be 17-18 hours away - still pinch myself when I am driving. We came from a small town - now I drive on 275 and 75 with the best of them!! We have a son who is severely handicapped - he is doing great - have seen big advances in his awareness. Cost of living is about the same (except for housing - "big" house where we came from was about $150-$175). We planned for two years to move and I could not have dreamed or prayed for a better life than we are experiencing now..... LOVE YOU, TAMPA!!!!!

Sounds like our neighborhood, but we live in Baton Rouge-I did not realize that friendly neighbors lived in Florida as we had nothing but mean crabby neighbors when we lived in (south) Florida! Anyway, looking to possible move back to Florida, but in a "normal" town. We were thinking Palm Harbor, but where is Lutz in relation to Palm Harbor and could you tell me more about that town-sounds terrif!!

Returned to FL after about 25 years--now its been one year. Wish I would have moved back sooner. Now that the job is settled...all I need is a woman to call my better half.
