Hello everyone,

Me and my GF are looking to move out to the west shore area, we woudl like to be in the immediate area I work right across form west shore, and she works right across fro International mall. I woudl love to be in the 3 mile radius or so so I could even bike or walk to work.

WE have been looking in the area but it is so hard to tell with the apartment ratings what places are really decent and which ones were just left by people who had a really bad experience so left a bad message (I don't think many people leave a review on places if everything was just fine, and they had no great or horrible experience. If some could help out here is our requirements

Rent budget $1000
and below (below would be better we are trying to budget about $1,200 per month for all living expenses (Rent/Water/Electric/Gas), grocereis and other stuff liek that wil lnot be in that equation.

Must haves
Personal W/D in unit or hookups (Not crazy about on-site laundry facilities)

Would very much prefer to have items
Allows grills
Pool
Fitness center

Not going to make or break if not but would be cool
Basketball court
Tennis Court

I was hoping I could get some honest feedback on Phillips international drive, me and my GF fell in love with this place, unfortunately its the first place we got to actualyl view (all the places we went Saturday were closed. We like the look of it, it appears to be a safe looking complex as well. Only drawback is no grills allowed but I can live with that .

I looked on apartment ratings and noticed 3 days in a row there are 3 5 star reviews which is very peculiar, and I also know you cant go off that because if the person had an ok experience they usually wont say anything people will typically only review if they were extremely happy or extremely unhappy.

So is there any truth to any of these issues?

Mean Office staff, way it is built the hallways echo a ton of sound making your apartment hard to get peace and quiet, Walls are very thin, Garage is very unsafe feeling, and very small easy to get in an accident. Night guards are useless they jsut sitand drink beer on the back of a pickup truck. Dont respond to emergencies quickly.

Also was hoping for some confirmation on the cool stuff I heard,

Always throwing social events for the tenants, due to new construction, the places are energy efficient (if you live there what is your average water/energy bill, are you conservative or always leaving things turned on?). Love the 24 horu fitenss center, I hear the machines are frequently broken.

Hope IM not asking to much I just want to make sure I dont make a mistake. and would like to make an informed decision, maybey there is another great place out there that I woudl be interested in equally, form the outside though Phillips definitely looks appealing.

got your DM- I am at work- but when I will DM you back when I get home from the gym and a run on bayshore.

I can assure you that Phillips is a great property. It is an apartment and has its flaws, but it is truly a good place to live. I can provide details and specific answers in my DM this evening.

I know exactly what review you are talking about and while the person raises some honest concerns- it is extremely exaggerated. I will provide further details when I write you back.

Default New Resident at Phillips and Love it!

My fiance and I just moved into the Phillips International Drive June 19th and we love it. Wanting to be closer to our offices; we moved from our condo in St. Petersburg and I cannot express enough how beautiful and wonderful Phillips is. We have already enjoyed the grill numerous times which is kept in exceptional condition. The gym and pool are never too packed, although I am guessing the pool will be packed this weekend for 4th of July.

Our unit is on the 2nd floor and I have had no complaints with our neighbors. The walls are thin, but no thinner than any other apartment I have been in. We were nevous about the parking garage being so close to our unit but I haven't been bothered once. On a random Saturday we were woken by some drunk girls in the courtyard, but they eventually were quiet and we went back to sleep immediately. My one gripe is the blinds do not block any light at night so we had to buy curtains for our bedroom... but that's a minor detail.

There is a basketball court at the school next door that is opened to residents, but no tennis courts. The gym on site even has a Wii Fit!

I am not sure if the rent will fit in your budget... we have a 2 bedroom and pay $1,400/ month, but maybe there are some one bedrooms in your price range?

Good luck!
