July 4th is a Sunday...why would you assume the fireworks are on Monday?

I second the St. Pete Pier fireworks. We go every year.
The Bay area has tons of events for the 4th! Take your pick:

On the calander the 5th is also observed as the Independance day observed. And many companies are honoring the 5th of July for their employees
